Education has been a long time. And the subjects we teach and the methods we use the time change. But time passes, everything changes en route, especially in education. Today, education is the new face of e-learning or electronic learning. ELearning is defined as the delivery of learning content via electronic media such as the Internet, audio and video equipment, web-based, CD-ROM, Web 2.0 and the media. Simply, e-learning is a form of assisted learning technologies and learning. The software platform that automates the process of teaching and learning is known as Learning Management Systems (LMS). The possibility of the development and distribution of training materials via the Internet, more and more education and business organizations have adopted open source and proprietary LMS.
E-learning is not necessarily the distance. Students and teachers involved in e-learning May not be geographically distant from each other. For example, students on campus living on campus or nearby are wholly or partially online. A student may self-training online without the need for teachers at all. E-learning May be an additional layer of flexibility to students and teachers as and when they want to learn and give lessons. E-learning and distance learning are not synonymous. Distance learning refers to learning that uses the Internet as a form of a vehicle for content delivery technology, while e-learning includes a wide range of learning materials for delivery of content .
The rapid growth of e-learning in recent years is often associated with the growth of the Internet. As there are other forms of learning, growing at a pace too. For example, mobile learning, or m-learning is an innovation faster and faster, the advantage of allowing students to be moving while learning. M-learning is an extension of e-learning, using mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDA) that can play video computer training online. However, the growth of m-learning is limited by the bandwidth available to deliver learning content.
Undoubtedly, new technologies open new options for the new way to design and deliver learning content. Organizations and institutions will have new tools for the training of employees, without loss of productivity and high cost of hiring a consultant. This is education at its best ever.
