Computers and Technology in the Academic Learning of Young Children

In today’s world, computers are familiar unavoidable in the daily lives of children and adolescents with a wide range of tools for learning and entertainment. Although studies have shown that boys are more heavy computer users and Web sites visited more often than girls, no differences between men and women began to chat, e -mail, or at home on the computer. In addition, both boys and girls have expressed the same confidence in their computer skills. Average parents feel that their school children and young people use the computer for about 1.5 hours per day. Computers, electronic games and toys, and technology in general a great influence and affect the lives of children. Technology has proven more than able to enrich the lives of children, particularly in education and social learning and development.
Computers, for example, are rich cognitive and social. Children as young as 3 years, the computer and are able to type simple commands on a standard keyboard. In addition, classrooms, often in small groups gather around the machine, and children often work together when working with the computer instead of using paper and pencil traditional methods.
Once children begin to read and write (literacy), they can use computers for word processing. This allows them, without difficulty with the hand, and they can revise the text for meaning and style, and check its spelling. Consequently, children are often less to worry about making mistakes and their written products ultimately more and better quality.
